Why we love Virginia in the Fall...

We went to Virginia for Thanksgiving. The kids always look forward to playing in the leaves there. Granddaddy has a huge mountain of leaves to climb and jump in!

of course, the little man is right in there with the big kids!

Fall Break 2009

We made the trip to Virginia to visit Aaron's family for Fall Break. We drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway, visiting Mabry's Mill, a famous landmark. The Reverend took several beautiful pictures of the mill, very post card worthy!

The kids had a blast, running around, playing tag, climbing trees...

love this one...
We also drove an additional 3 hours to Richmond, Virginia, to see cousins, other family, Nanny (the kid's great grandmother) and have a date night with Beth and Scott, Aaron's sister and brother in law.

Nanny and the kids...
The whole gang...
It was a fun trip. The kids were exhausted and slept most of the way home on Tuesday. They love their family in Virginia. We miss you guys!

Soccer

Avery had a make up soccer this afternoon due to all the rain we've had recently. It was a beautiful day, too! He scored one goal last week, none today, but was in all the action.

where did this beautiful girl come from and how did she get so big?

The little man sat in the stroller the whole game and ate snacks. Otherwise, he runs out on the field and I have to constantly chase him.

U2 or Bust

Biggest concert we've ever been too. We forgot our camera. Took a few shots with Aaron's phone, but nothing great. Saw Michael W. Smith outside the doors. Chit-chatted for a few minutes.

Crazy man, Paul, sitting to my left throughout the entire concert, drinking, smoking pot, offering to us, passing it all around, dancing all around, bumping us, singing very loudly, telling us his life story. Our new best friend...
Sitting in the parking lot of the Georgia Dome for over an hour waiting to leave, grid-locked traffic. Finally creeping to the interstate to drive 4 hours home at 12:00 midnight already. Getting to the interstate and the van not driving more than 50 miles an hour, transmission slipping. Stopped at a gas station, filled up with transmission fluid, said a prayer, and drove home. Me saying, "well, at least it's not raining. It was suppose to pour tonight".
30 minutes later: rain, pouring down, monsoon, water all over the interstate, driving 30 miles an hour.
Pull into the driveway at 4:07 am. Sleep for 3 hours.
Good times. Good memories. Best concert I've ever been too!
